Amplified Heat will be playing Friday night at Beerland on Red River. They are a classic hard rock sounding group with gritty vocals. They sound like the kind of group that is great live. They will be playing this year at SXSW, so this is a chance to catch them ahead of time.
Austin group, The Greatcoats have an EP release party this Friday at Frank. Their EP is offered as a free download on their website, so check it out and then go catch them live this weekend.

Also on Friday night, Balmorhea will be playing a show at The Parish. This group weaves deep, rich, beautiful instrumentals. With all of the weekend music choices, this might be my Friday pick.
