SXSW 2012 Preview: Tristen

I discovered Tristen back when I was pouring through artists to feature on my Accidental Christmas series. She is a young artist out of Nashville who is making a name for herself in the songwriter community. Her much acclaimed 2011 album, Charlatans at the Garden Gate is beautiful from start to finish, with songs that hint of country and folk influences mixed with indie singer-songwriter, rocker chick vibes. She reminds me of Taylor Goldsmith in her ability to combine thoughtful lyrics with catchy, rich melodies. I also have a feeling she might be totally badass in concert, which why she is an artist I am excited to see at SXSW 2012! Be sure to check her out!

Accidental Christmas: Tristen "Frosty The Snowman"

Tristen is an artist that I am super excited about. She is releasing a 7" of holiday tracks in time for the season. Songs will include "Frosty the Snowman" and "Winter Is Blue" on Side A and "Blue Christmas" on Side B. I'm not much of a vinyl girl, but for those of you old timers or young hipsters, this will be a good one to check out. Here's a digital version of Frosty The Snowman.
