Adele Cancels tour AGAIN!

WTF?!

She posted her response on her blog.

I'm too flustered to formulate an actual response except the fact that she didn't capitalize a single "i" on her post is incredibly annoying and distracting.

P.S. I'm feeling compelled to make a snarky, sarcastic remark about all of this--Perhaps laying off those nicotine cancer sticks might help. Just saying. There's a lot of science behind this.

Weekend Update: Dum Dum Girls

The Dum Dum Girls will be bringing their indie pop sound to the stage tonight at the Mohawk. This fun girl group has an album coming out and the snippets I've heard sound great. I expect it will show their maturity and establishment as as group. Check out an old video and a teaser video for their new album. Definitely a show to check out this weekend.

Kings of Leon Cancel US Tour

King of Leon's held a disastrous Dallas show this past weekend. After only 4 or 5 songs, frontman Caleb Followill said, "I'm gonna go backstage and I'm gonna vomit. I'm gonna drink a beer and I'm gonna come back out and play three songs." Only he never returned. 


Bandmates reflected on Twitter what we all were thinking saying, "there are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be address" and "I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade."


Now it seems they have cancelled the rest of their US tour. Unfortunate, to say the least. Hopefully this band can get their shit together and continue to create great music. It would be unfortunate to see them lost in substance abuse and band turmoil. 

Adele announces canceled tour

It seems so unjust that a women with a killer voice like Adele should loser her’s, but sadly, her bout of laryngitis has forced her to cancel the remaining shows on her North American tour (including her Austin show and taping of Austin City Limits). Collective “NOOOOOOOOO’s” were heard over the twittersphere  this afternoon when the news was announced. Adele recently turned her relationship and breakup into a kick ass sophomore album that has topped the charts for weeks. Adele has a voice like no other and her music is soul wrenching and amazing. I wish her a speedy recovery and a rescheduling of her tour. 

Music News: Mr Heavenly

I received in my inbox today a delightful e-mail from Mister Heavenly (the band, not my fantasy future boyfriend) announcing their debut album set to be released August 16.  This trio (with sometimes Michael Cera guesting on bass) was not entirely memorable for me coming out of SXSW, but they have a fun sound and I’m intrigued to hear what their album has to offer.
