What are you doing New Years Eve?

So truth be told, I am not a New Year's person. This explains the lack of posts and hype about what everyone is doing tonight or what band you will ring in the new year with. I should be more specific. I love a new year! I love the possibilities, the clean slate, the resolutions I most certainly won't keep. What I don't like is the eve of all of this. It is a night that is almost always disappointing. It is a night when I have often thought that wearing heels with my obligatory glamorous outfit is a good idea (it never is). The crowds are denser, the drunks drunker, and high expectations rarely met.  For many years I boycotted the night and instead spent the evening eating Chinese food and watching the ball drop in my pj's. Some called it sad. I called it blissful.

Still, it is a night where parties will be had and great music played and tonight (as I am not yet a velcro wearing old person) I will venture away from my pj's and Chinese food and spend it being glamorous and toasting champagne with my most wonderful friends. I hope you all find yourself wearing comfortable shoes (because heels are never the answer), celebrating with friends, being blissfully drunk and ringing in the new year with fantastic music! Happy New Year!

  1. Oh Please! The Amanda I know if so entirely too close to being a velcro wearing old person. If they put glitter on some velcro shoes you would be all over that. You would wear them around town with your sweatshirt that is full of holes and your snow flake pj pants.
