Andy McKee

I featured Andy McKee last week on my Songs For The New Year playlist with his cover of Everybody Wants To Rule The World and he is awesome enough to warrant his own blog post. Andy is a solo acoustic guitar player who does more with a guitar than imaginable, pushing the limits of its percussive and instrumental sounds. He is own one man band, but without all of the funny props. In his most recent album, Joyland, Andy features supporting instrumentals on several songs, which beautifully enhance his music. He is extremely talented and I am baffled every time I watch his youtube videos and am reminded that he is making all of this beautiful sound with just his guitar! He will be at SXSW this year and will be a great live act to catch.
