What Do You Love About Music?

Conversations with my brother can often go as follows: 

M: "God I wish Stillwater was coming to SX"

A: "Do you mean Shearwater or the fictional singers of such classics as "Fever Dog"?"

M: "The band who's guitar playing is incendiary."

Most of our conversations involve excessive references to the film, Almost Famous, which might be sad if  it wasn't, in fact, the greatest movie ever made. It captures so perfectly what it means "to truly love some silly little piece of music, or some band, so much that it hurts. Or how "music, you know, true music- not just rock n roll- it chooses you. It lives in your car or alone listening to your headphones..." 

And so, in an homage to this classic film, I am asking you all, What Do You Love About Music? It is  part of an ongoing project during which I will be collecting responses in a variety of ways. Leave your comment below, find me during SXSW and stay tuned for updates and announcements.
