The Strollers: Because Sometimes Kid Music Can Be Awesome!

There is a great deal about parenthood that terrifies me, especially as my friends are pairing off and reproducing and I hear all of their stories of love, diapers and lack of sleep. But one of the things that scares me the most is the music. While my childhood was rich in classics like Beethoven and The Band, my parents also did their parental duty by supplying us with endless hours of Raffi and the children's songs that are so important for development, but not always enjoyable for anyone over that age of 4.

So music loving parents, I am delighted to tell you about The Strollers. This local Austin group is what happens when talented musicians become dads and band together (pun intended!) to create kid and parent friendly music. They are the Pixar of the music industry, if you will. They have the kind of lyrics kids will get a kick out of and love to sing. Parents will delight in their charm and cleverness, and the fun rockabilly melodies will get families up on their dancing feet.

Check out their facebook page and look for them playing around town, or better yet, have them at your next kid's party!
