Morgan Page Concert Review

Thank you K. West for the amazing photos!

A month ago I wrote about the promise of a dance party delivered by the music of Morgan Page, and last Friday night's concert was everything a dance party should be! While the venue gets an F- for how they handled check in and ticket collecting, Page more than made up for it with his show once inside.

It was exploding with energy as the enthusiastic, sold out crowd went absolutely nuts for every song. Hands were in the air, bodies danced and jumped, confetti and intermittent fog fell from the ceiling and I allowed myself to get lost in the euphoria of this incredible party. I'm never entirely sure what dj's do to make their sound with all of that impressive equipment, and I'll admit that I really have no idea what "mixing" actually entails, but whatever Morgan Page is doing and whatever he is mixing, he's doing it right. He's doing it incredible! The progressive house music pouring from his speakers and stage of electronics is impeccable. He played a mix of old and new tracks, evident by excited hollers and singing along of the audience.

Check out his new single, Body of Work with Tegan and Sara and get pumped for his album coming out later this year! Also check him out live whenever you can. Life should be a dance party and Morgan Page is mixing it!

P.S. If you didn't make it into the show as a result of Haven's poor planning and utter chaos (which is my nice way of saying complete shit show), let me know. Morgan's people are are working on a way to make it up to you (because they're awesome like that). In the meantime they have passed along this sweet set of free music! It is some of Morgan's favorite remixes from last year, including remixes for Underworld, Daft Punk, Florence & The Machine, and Temper Trap. Enjoy!

  1. Those remixes are AMAZING. Love that he chose not only a Daft Punk number to remix, but it's got some of the stuff from Tron on it! Ah, Morgan Page is the bomb. So glad I got to make it out.
